PROFILE OF THE MONTH
James Arzente: Pixel pride
This month, we catch up with the Painter in Brookline, who took a plunge into digital art, while adapting to trends.

James Arzente
Painter and Digital Artist,
Brookline, MA.

My job profile:
I have been painting full time for the last 9 years, and started working digitally about 2 years ago. My studio is in my home where I think and work. I am married and have a daughter who is always a source of inspiration.

My favorite color:
I really don't have one; each color has its individual personality and sound.

My favorite holiday destination:
Venice and Anguilla - for the light, natural & inspired beauty and lifestyles.

My idea of spending free time:
Don't have much, spend it with my family.

My favorite websites:
www.adobe.com Always something I hadn't seen before.
www.drawingcenter.org Always something to see.
www.newriders.com Good resource of art books.

My favorite cartoon characters:
Not a cartoon person.

My favorite artists and people who inspire me:
Delicroix, Cezanne, Matisse, Enzo Cucchi, of course Picasso and Rauschenberg.

My type of music:

Neil Young and whoever inspires me to work. I will listen to the same song for days on end to keep my head where it needs to be.

Some useful tips:
Work, take your inspiration where you can and think carefully of what you want to say.

My ambitions for the future:
Leave Boston and move to Italy and live happily ever after.

My message to the art community:
The world needs much work and art has a role in that work. Just keep working, learning and don't look back.
