What is Artyears
Artyears is a cyber alumnus of art students, art professional. Artyears aims to unite the art community world wide by bring all like-minded professionals together on a common platform.

The Objectives of Artyears

The Artyears portal was created by a group of designers to help keep in touch always. It was conceived to bond talent with technology by using the power of the Internet to interact with like-minded individuals across the globe and evolve with the changing times.

Why was Artyears formed
Artyears was formed as a means to communicate and spread ideas and thoughts that are essential to designers while keeping abreast of the latest in the field of technology as related to art.

Who can be a member?
Anyone related to the field of art or professions associated with art is eligible to register at Artyears.

How do you become a member?
To become a member at Artyears, one has to visit the site and fill up the online form by giving the required details. The Artyears team approves the member and is added to the membership list on the site. Read our privacy policy.

How you benefit by becoming a member?
Becoming a member helps the art community grow in a team. Registered members are updated through a monthly newsletter. Besides getting one’s profile displayed on the site, each member is allowed to exhibit their work, contribute features, contact other members, access the community section online, add web-page links and generally discuss issues and ideas.

PROFILES

How to get into the profile listing?
The profile listing on Artyears is a short description of people relating to the field of art. It forms the database of art professionals around the world. To add a listing on the site, it is required to submit the form provided online by filling in the necessary details. A photograph of the member can also be added to the listing, but is not compulsory.

How does one get in touch with the member listed in the profiles?
A ‘Send-E-mail’ option is provided in each member profile. (The E-mail address is hidden to provide our valuable members from spam). To get in touch with another member in the profile listing, one has to click on the concerned member profile. Click the ‘Send E-mail’ button and send a message as required. The message is automatically forwarded to the person concerned and the recipient is than free to send you a reply directly, if he wishes to do so.
IMPORTANT:
Please do not touch the subject field.
The subject field is automatically generated so that the e-mail reaches the correct person.

How do I get my profile updated?
The profile listing section has a link to profile updates. One has to click on the link or send an e-mail to mail@artyears.com mentioning the required changes in the existing profile.

GALLERY

How to submit your work for the gallery?
Members who register their profile at Artyears are encouraged to exhibit their work online at the Artyears gallery. Work for display on the site can be e-mailed as an attachment to mail@artyears.com. A graphic link that is downloadable from one’s personal web page can also be forwarded to us via e-mail.

What are the criteria to have your work displayed?
It is mandatory to register at Artyears to have one’s work displayed on the site. Graphics, paintings, cartoons, photographs, calligraphy, or any art related visual is acceptable for display on the gallery. Due to space constrains however, it is advised to submit not more than three work samples.

How many artworks can be submitted to the gallery?
Due to space constrains, and the volume of entries, it is advised to submit not more than three artworks per person, for the gallery. However, it is possible to update work from time to time by sending in new artworks.

Is there a size restriction for artworks?

As with all Internet graphics, the artworks submitted for the gallery have to be optimized for best viewing quality and least possible file sizes. This helps images to load faster with considerations to connection speeds on the Internet. The size of the artwork should not be more than 500 x 500 pixels.

CONTRIBUTION

How do you contribute an article/review?

Artyears welcomes articles and reviews related to art. You can submit articles/reviews by clicking on the ‘Send Articles’ button on the home page or simple send us an e-mail with your text and illustrations if any at submit@artyears.com.

What is the criteria for submitting an article/review?
You have to be a registered member to submit an article/review for Artyears. You can write or review on any subject related to the field of art. There is no restriction to the number of words but it may be edited to fit the Artyears requirements.

What about GIF Animations?
GIF animations though are not accepted. We believe that animation will attract too much attention and detract from the actual content of the page.

How do you contribute a logo?

Artyears identifies itself through its logo. Being an art related site we invite Designers to manipulate the design element in our logo to relate it in some context or another to art.

What are the restrictions in designing the logo?

While redesigning our logo, it is required to use the words ‘artyears.com’ in full and relate it to art in some form or another. It should be either in gif or jpeg format and the dimensions should strictly not exceed 200 x 50 pixels.

Where are the credits for the design of the logo?

Every logo idea we receive, is credited to the designer we receive the logo from. The name of designer who logo appears on our site can be viewed in the credits section of Artyears. The link to the ‘Credits’ section is located at the bottom of all page.

CLASSIFIEDS

What is classifieds?
Classified listings are posted by third parties at Artyears under unspecified categories.

How do you host an ad on the classifieds section?
The classifieds in Artyears has a standard format of putting up your message in the section. You can host an ad by filling in the required details along with your message and specify the time frame you will want the ad to be hosted for.
You are however bound by the policies of Bravenet.com. Artyears is not responsible for any discrepancy that may arise out of hosting of your ad. Your problems should be addressed to Bravenet.com.

FREELANCE

What is Freelance?

Freelance is selling one’s services to various employers. It is an outlet for lending one’s talent and expertise for commercial gains.

How do I qualify for freelance jobs?
Artyears provides you with the opportunity to quality for freelance jobs through an affiliate with elance.com . You are however bound by the policies of elance.com. Artyears is not responsible for any discrepancy that may arise out of hosting of your ad. Your problems should be addressed to elance.com.
You can register your profile by submitting the required details which can be viewed online by prospective employers. You can also exhibit your work in the gallery section of Artyears which could go a long way in getting your talents noticed and recognized.
